Policies and Procedures

This Pet Transportation Agreement (“Agreement”), consisting of Paws On the Go Pet Taxi, LLC’s (POTG Pet Taxi, LLC) Policies and Procedures and Service Agreement, in addition to Client’s pet information located in the online client portal, constitute the sole and entire agreement between POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. and Client (“the Parties”) with regard to the subject matter hereof. The Parties waive the right to rely on any alleged expressed or implied provision not contained therein. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. reserves the right to amend its Policies and Procedures in its discretion. Any alteration to the Service Agreement Section must be in writing and signed by both Parties.

 

 

 

1. POTG PET TAXI, LLC

Our foremost priority is the safety and security of our clients, their pets, and their property. Our team has been carefully trained. Our entire team loves animals and is passionate about delivering the best care available.
​The Team Member(s) you meet with initially will be your pet’s primary caregivers. Occasionally another member of your area’s small team may need to fill in should your primary caregivers be unavailable or so we can accommodate last minute service requests.
​We are happy to accommodate requests to meet with additional members of our team prior to them caring for your pets.  Service charges may apply for additional meetings with members of our team.  
​Please do not put our team in the uncomfortable position of offering them Pet Sitting, Pet Transportation, Dog Walking[1]  employment apart from POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. It is against our policies to provide our staff’s personal cell phone number. Our team members are prohibited from soliciting or accepting employment directly from clients and have signed a contract to this effect. We thank you for honoring this policy.
​Employee training is a high priority for us, and we consider it a valuable investment. From time to time your regular driver will have new employees accompanying them on visits as a part of our employee on-boarding process.

 

2. INSURANCE &LICENSING 

General liability Insurance and Commercial Auto Insurance issued by biBERK, part of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Company: 1-844-472-0967.
Animal Bailee Coverage provided by Pet Care Insurance: 1-844-520-6990.

3. HOURS

We strive to accommodate the needs of your pet. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC provides time slots for you to choose from through our software. During the day, we are open to transportation to any facility. However, from the late evening into the night, are reserved for emergency purposes only when transporting your pet to a veterinarian.

Hours are subject to change at any time.

Hours of operation:

Monday – Saturday from 8am–4pm

Sunday: Closed

 

4. SCHEDULING

Scheduling is on a first-come, first service basis.
​All new service requests, terminating service or changes to service including adding, canceling, or adjusting scheduled service need to be scheduled via your client portal. You will receive a notification by email when your service request is approved.  Please do not send service requests or cancellations directly to your driver.
​Texting is NOT 100% reliable and is NOT an acceptable means of business communication. Please use your online client portal for communication, scheduling, and updating information.
​Schedule requests for existing clients received during business hours will be addressed the same day. Scheduling requests made after business hours will be addressed the next business day. Scheduling requests made on Sunday will be addressed on Monday.
If you need to adjust or schedule service for the next day it must be done via your online portal by 7pm the day before service, otherwise, you will need to contact our office directly by email or by calling (661)317-4728.​

 

5. COMMUNICATION

Your driver will provide report cards after each trip in the client portal. You will receive an email or push notification from the app. when you have a new notification. 
​Any updates you make in your personal or pet profile will be sent as an email notification to our team to ensure we don’t miss a change. 
​You can send messages in the Pet Pocket Book app. of the Client Portal by selecting “Messages” to start chatting there. Management and drivers will receive and reply in this thread.   
​Please do not send messages by text to your driver or the office. Your online portal provides the most efficient means of communication and ensures our team does not miss important notifications as well as ensuring they do not receive work related communication when they are not working.

 

6. SERVICES

Complimentary Meet & Greet

This is an initial meeting for the POTG Pet Taxi team member to meet with the client and pet. We will go over pet care, pick up, drop off and confirm service dates/times. Additional requests by client for future meetings will be billed $20.

 


Veterinary, Grooming, Boarding Visits

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will transport the pet to or from the Veterinarian, Boarding or Groomer. Service rate starts at the time of pick up and ends when the pet is no longer under our care.  Minimum rate[3]  is for first 15 miles for a one-way trip.
If you need us to also pick up your pet from the Veterinarian, Boarding or Groomer, we can. This would be considered a round-trip which would be a minimum rate of $60  consisting of 30 miles.
If a one-way trip or round-trip is a further distance than 15/ 30 miles, then a charge of $2 per mile after that will be applied.
POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. does charge an extra fee for multiple pets[4]  ($5 per additional pet), as space is limited.
If the owner or an authorized agent does not accompany their pet to the facility, then they must have a form of payment already on file with that facility to ensure payment is met. We will call the facility ahead of time to make sure they have a way to charge you when services are approved by you.

Adoption Day Transport

Adoption Day Transport services are available to individuals who have successfully completed the pet adoption process and are welcoming a new pet into their home.
Clients must schedule Adoption Day Transport in advance. Scheduling is subject to availability, and early booking is recommended.
The pet taxi service will verify the client's identity and confirm the pet's identity and documentation.

 

Emergency Transportation

Emergency Transportation services is a minimum rate of $60, if after 7pm it is a minimum rate of $80. Services are available to all pet owners facing immediate medical or safety-related pet emergencies. Emergency appointments will be prioritized based on the severity of the situation.
All vehicles will be equipped with pet safety gear, including carriers, stretchers, first-aid kits, and temperature control measures. Upon arrival, the pet will be assessed, and immediate first aid will be administered if required.
POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will coordinate with the client's chosen veterinary facility or the nearest emergency clinic. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will transport the pet to the designated veterinary facility, adhering to all traffic regulations and safety standards.
If the owner or an authorized agent does not accompany their pet to the facility, then they must have a form of payment already on file with that chosen veterinary facility to ensure payment is met. We will call the veterinary facility ahead of time to make sure they have a way to charge you when services are approved by you.

 

Pet Who Have Passed Away

​ Pet transport after passing services are available to all pet owners who have experienced the loss of their beloved companion. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will gather essential information, including the pet's details and the chosen destination.
POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will handle the deceased pet with the utmost respect, dignity, and care throughout the entire process.
POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will transport the pet to the chosen destination (e.g., crematory, burial site, or veterinary facility) with care and attention to safety.
Upon arrival at the destination, the pet will be handed over to the designated personnel. Any necessary paperwork or documentation will be managed by the client or POTG Pet Taxi, LLC as per the client's preferences .
If the owner or an authorized agent does not accompany their pet to the facility, then they must have a form of payment already on file with that chosen veterinary facility to ensure payment is met. We will call the facility ahead of time to make sure they have a way to charge you when services are approved by you.

 

7. WAIT TIME

Clients are expected to be ready for scheduled pick-ups or drop-offs during the agreed-upon time. It is the client's responsibility to provide accurate and accessible location details for a smooth transition. Having pets ready for transport and being accessible for communication also helps us.
For every 30 minutes the driver has to wait past the scheduled pick-up time, a $15 rate will be charged. We value your time and strive to be punctual for all scheduled pick-ups and drop-offs.
A reasonable grace period (e.g., 10 minutes) will be allowed for clients during pick-ups and drop-offs. 
Rate charges will also be in effect at other pet facilities from waiting to pick-ups and/ or drop-offs at the scheduled time.

 

8. DRIVER'S TARDINESS

If our driver exceeds the specified grace period, we will contact the client to update them on the delay.
If a client is unable to wait beyond the grace period, alternative solutions may be discussed, such as rescheduling or offering a partial refund if the delay is substantial.
Drivers will promptly report any delays to the dispatch or management team to improve service efficiency and minimize future delays.

 

9. THIRD PARTY/ DOG INTERACTION 

To ensure the safety and well-being of the dogs in our care, our staff, third parties and their dogs, POTG Pet Taxi staff will make all attempts to avoid interaction with other individuals and dogs during our trips. We will politely decline offers from third parties to interact with the dogs/cats in our care.
​Animal behavior can be unpredictable. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC does not accept responsibility or liability for animal behavior, normal or otherwise, which results in injury to the client's animals or any third party.

 

10. PICK-UPS AT CLIENT'S RESIDENCE

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC requires information on how to access your residence, especially if you reside in a gated community. You can conveniently provide this entry information within your Client Portal, specifically in your first-listed pet's note section located at the bottom. For clients living in apartment complexes who wish to offer precise directions to their unit, we encourage you to include this information in your pet's note section as well. Any details to assist our drivers in reaching your residence would be greatly appreciated.
It is essential to emphasize that a responsible party must be present to transfer the pet to the driver. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC strictly adheres to a policy of not entering clients' households. We do not retain personal house keys or access codes for home entry.
In cases where POTG Pet Taxi, LLC arrives at a client's residence for pick-up and finds no one present or has not received prior communication from the client, we will assume that no one is home. The driver will make an initial attempt to contact the client within the first 15 minutes from the scheduled time and, if unsuccessful, will depart thereafter.
It is important to be aware that the full-service rate will still apply in the event of a missed pick-up due to the absence of the client or timely communication.

 

11. PAYMENTS

We accept ACH (automated clearing house network- an electronic fund transfer) payments and major credit cards. We do not accept checks. You will be able to provide payment information when creating your client profile in Pet Pocket Book. 
POTG Pet Taxi, LLC never stores or logs any of your payment information (other than the last four digits). We only integrate with payment processors that support remote storage of credit card information for the highest level of security.

 

12. BILLING

Clients are billed the next day from their scheduled service.
​Invoices are automatically charged from the payment information on file. Pet Pocket Book stores and provides security for your payment information. Any questions or concerns with this, please refer to bullet point # 2 and #4.
A 5% fee will automatically be added when you pay to POTG Pet Taxi, LLC services online via Pet Pocket book. This fee allows Pet Pocket book to cover the processing costs.
A 10.25% Palmdale, CA state tax will automatically be added as well.
Invoices are emailed to clients. Clients may login to their online account and pay the invoice if they manually decline the automatic billing.
​Tips are not expected, though very much appreciated! Tips can be in cash left at pick up/ drop off, or included in payment and the entire tip will go directly to the driver providing services. 
If a check is accepted under special circumstances, a check fee of $25.00 will be charged for returned checks.

 

13. CANCELLATIONS

Your consideration when scheduling and canceling service is greatly appreciated and allows us to schedule not only our work schedule but time with our families and loved ones.
​Cancellations need to be made via your online portal. There are no cancellation fees if made before the following times:

Cancellations received after 7pm the night before service or on the day of service will be charged 50% of the full-service rate.  
If you cancel your appointment within 1 hour of your appointment, you will be charged 100% of the full-service rate.     

 

14. HOLIDAYS

Trips on the following holidays are charged a Holiday Surcharge of $10.00/per trip: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, President’s Day, Easter Sunday, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Christmas Eve. 
​Holidays are our busiest time and if we book a service for you, we may have to turn down service for another client. We carefully schedule our time to serve you and our other clients. Therefore, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible when scheduling or canceling service. 
​It is not just about the money. It bears repeating that your consideration with scheduling and canceling of services particularly during the holidays is greatly appreciated and allows us to schedule not only our work schedule but time with our families and loved ones.

 

15. IDENTIFICATION AND LICENSES

All dogs must wear a collar with I.D tag and phone number.
​The city of Palmdale requires licenses for dogs and cats. We ask our clients to comply for the good of the community.

 

16. VACCINATIONS AND FLEA PREVENTIONS

All vaccines must be kept current. You are responsible for providing POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. with proof of immunization when pets are in our care. Vaccination records can be updated on your client portal.
​Our clients are responsible to maintain a flea regimen. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC reserves the right to control infestation with any or all of the following: apply flea treatment to pet, seek grooming and boarding. The cost of treatment and time spent is applied to the client's invoice.

 

17. EMERGENCY CARE

In the event that a pet in our care sustains an injury or illness, we will seek professional veterinary care in order to stabilize the condition until such time that the client can decide the appropriate course of action. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will make every effort to contact client prior to obtaining emergency care. Any fees incurred by POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will be reimbursed by the client.
​Client authorizes POTG Pet Taxi, LLC to utilize a veterinarian of POTG Pet Taxi, LLC's choosing in the event the client’s preferred veterinarian is unavailable.
​Clients are strongly encouraged to notify their veterinarian that POTG Pet Taxi, LLC is authorized to seek veterinarian care and that client keep a credit card on file with their pet’s veterinarian.
​Clients agree to provide an emergency contact. This should be someone that knows you well enough to decide on your behalf about your home or pets in the event that we are unable to reach you.

 

18. EMERGENCY CONTACT

An Emergency Contact is defined as anyone that the client authorizes POTG Pet Taxi, LLC to contact to make decisions regarding the care of client’s pets if we aren’t able to contact client in the event of an emergency.
POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. requires the name and phone number of someone that would take over care and custody or your pet in the event of a catastrophe or untoward circumstance preventing you from being present at the time of pick-up and/or drop-off. 

19. PROPERTY DAMAGE, INJURIES, THEFT

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC is only liable for claims arising from negligence or willful misconduct. We cannot accept responsibility for uncontrollable mishaps (such as bites, or furniture damage) caused by client’s pets.
​Animal behavior can be unpredictable. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC does not accept responsibility or liability for animal behavior, normal or otherwise, which results in injury to the client's animals or any third party.

20. WEATHER

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will use our discretion in extreme weather conditions. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC reserves the right to modify the scheduled service if it is deemed severe rain or severe snow conditions to safely transport pets.
​POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. will show up for all scheduled emergency services regardless of weather conditions.
​If a clients wants to cancel a service due to weather, they must do so by 7pm the night before service to avoid being charged for the scheduled trip.

 

21. PRIVACY

Protecting your private information is our priority. This Online Privacy Policy (“the Policy”) applies to POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, as well as any affiliated Website (referred to collectively as (“the Website”) and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to POTG Pet Taxi, LLC shall include the Website. 

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, constantly is updating and expanding customer and User services.  Accordingly, this policy may change at any time.    

How We Secure Your Information

Security of your information is important to us. We take the most secure measures to secure all of your personal information, by staying current with the most commercially acceptable methods. While we strive to secure all of your data fully, please be advised that nothing on the internet is One Hundred Percent (100%) secure.

 

Sharing Information with Third Parties 

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists or information to third parties. 

 

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, design, build or revise websites, send email or postal mail, and provide customer support, All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. 


POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, or the Website; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of POTG Pet Taxi, LLC,; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of POTG Pet Taxi, LLC,, or the public.  


E-mail Communications 

From time to time, POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. If you would like to stop receiving marketing or promotional communications via email from POTG Pet Taxi, LLC,, you may opt out of such communications. Customers may unsubscribe from emails by replying “STOP" or "clicking on the UNSUBSCRIBE button". 

Changes to this Statement 

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account, by placing a prominent notice on the Website, and/or by updating any privacy information on this page. Your continued use of the Website and/or Services available through the Website, after such modifications will constitute your: (a) acknowledgment of the modified Privacy Policy; and (b) agreement to abide and be bound by that Policy.

22. PHOTO AND RELEASES

Client grants POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. permission to use the likeness of their pet in a photograph or photographs, in any and all of its publications, including but not limited to all of POTG Pet Taxi, LLC.'s printed and digital publications. Clients understand and agrees that any photograph using Client’s pets likeness will become property of POTG Pet Taxi, LLC and will not be returned. Client acknowledges that since Client participation with POTG Pet Taxi, LLC is voluntary, they will receive no financial compensation. 

Client irrevocably authorizes POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute these photos for purposes of publicizing POTG Pet Taxi, LLC.'s programs or for any other related, lawful purpose. In addition, client waives the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein their pet’s likeness appears. Additionally, clients waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the photographs. 


Clients hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.

 

 

 

Service Agreement

Client authorizes POTG Pet Taxi, LLC to perform pet care services as outlined during the Meet and Greet and in accordance with POTG Pet Taxi, LLC posted Policies and Procedures which shall become part of this contract.

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC is authorized to perform care and services as outlined in this contract.  Should medical attention be necessary and the specified veterinarian is unavailable, POTG Pet Taxi, LLC is authorized by signature below to seek emergency veterinary care.  Client releases POTG Pet Taxi, LLC from all liabilities related to transportation, treatment and expense.  Every attempt will be made to notify Client regarding such a situation.  However, if Client is not reachable and time is of the essence Client authorizes POTG Pet Taxi, LLC to approve medical and /or emergency treatment (excluding euthanasia) as recommended by a veterinarian. Client agrees to reimburse POTG Pet Taxi, LLC for any expense incurred.

Client agrees to reimburse POTG Pet Taxi, LLC for any additional fees and expenses incurred for unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food, or supplies required to meet the needs of my animal(s).

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC agrees to provide pet care services in a reliable, caring, and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof, the client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, its employees or assigns, except those arising from proven negligence by POTG Pet Taxi, LLC.

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.

Client will be responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to a representative of POTG Pet Taxi, LLC or other persons by the pet.  Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless POTG Pet Taxi, LLC in the event of a claim by any person injured by the pet. Client shall, at Client’s sole expense, defend POTG Pet Taxi, LLC and its respective employees against any claim or demand, whether or not well founded arising from any act(s) of Client’s pet(s) or relation to Client’s property. The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless POTG Pet Taxi, LLC as well as its respective employees, successors and assigns free and harmless from all cost, expenses, and liabilities in connection with such claims or demands. These costs, expenses and liabilities include amounts paid in settlement before or after suit is commenced, attorney’s fees and costs incurred by POTG Pet Taxi, LLC in defending against such claims or demands.

It is expressly understood that POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, shall not be held responsible for any damage to client’s property, or that of others, caused by client’s pets during the period in which they are in our care.

Client acknowledges that payment is due immediately upon receipt of an invoice from POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. A handling fee of $25.00 will be charged on all returned checks or declined ACH/credit card transactions. In the event it is necessary to initiate collection proceedings on the account, Client will be responsible for all attorney’s fees, filing fees, and cost of collection.

No charge for transportations canceled by 7pm the day before service. Trips canceled by client after 7pm will pay for 50% of the service rate. Cancellations made within 1 hour of the scheduled trip will pay 100% of the service rate. Cancelations will be billed the following day.  

In the event of personal emergency or serious illness of POTG Pet Taxi, LLC, Client authorizes POTG Pet Taxi, LLC to arrange for another qualified person to fulfill responsibilities as set forth on this contract.  Every attempt will be made to notify the client and or the listed Emergency Contact regarding such a situation.  ​

I attest to the fact that all licenses and vaccinations required by the City in which I reside are current according to the law.

POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. specifically reserves the right to reject or refuse to accept any pet, if, in POTG Pet Taxi, LLC.’s sole discretion, the pet is deemed to be dangerous or unsafe. POTG Pet Taxi, LLC’s discretion in this regard extends to any requested services, if the services violate any law or regulation, or any of the Terms set forth herein, or are deemed to be dangerous to the pet, other pets, or any pet care provider or other individual. Client acknowledges and agrees that client will assume all liability in connection with certain specified services that client requests.  POTG Pet Taxi, LLC. will advise client of the nature of these services should the need arise.  

No relaxation, indulgence, waiver or release by any party of any of the rights in terms of this Service Agreement on one occasion shall prevent the subsequent enforcement of such rights and shall not be deemed to be a waiver of any subsequent breach of any of the terms. 

The terms of this Service Agreement shall be binding upon and accrue to the benefit and be enforceable by either party’s successors, legal representatives, and assigns. This Service Agreement shall be construed, interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of the State of California and should any provision of this Service Agreement be judged by an appropriate court as invalid, it shall not affect any of the remaining provisions whatsoever.  I have read and agree to the aforementioned Policies and Procedures.
