How it started...
The Call to Action
A woman was crying on the phone, begging for help as her pet struggles. Whimpers could be heard in the background. "Please! Can someone there pick up my pet and take him to the vet?! I don't have a car and I have kids, I need help!" I paused, absorbing everything I was hearing. My eyebrows furrowed in remorse as I surveyed the treatment room. The clock read just past 11 pm. I knew it was only me and one other staff member, along with 12 other patients. My heart sank as I realized there was nothing I could do. "I am so sorry, ma'am. We can't provide that service to pick up your pet. Can you reach out to anyone else for assistance?" The woman cried harder and yelled at me. She accused me of lacking a heart, of not caring, hurling false accusations that were the complete opposite of what I was feeling.
About Me & My Vision
I have been in the veterinary field for 7 years and I have had jobs in day practices and E.R. clinics. The situation mentioned above actually happened to me personally too many times while working in the Antelope Valley, CA. Too many times has it broken my heart knowing that I was as helpless as those pet owners. But that struggle will end with this new service I am introducing for our community, Paws On The Go Pet Taxi. Knowing that everyone will have a chance to get their pet where they need to be without any worry. But veterinary visits are not the only service that will be provided. This service will extend to grooming appointments, boarding facilities and adoption support!
